KZN CMD Needs People

Giving babies a loving home, get people to make a living, feed hungry kids, explain how to grow a vegetable garden, train people in skills development, to start a business and many more, will not be possible without the help of volunteers. CMD needs people to help, to support, to network and to advocate for those in need. KZN CMD needs volunteers to market the work of the organisation.

Without volunteers, more babies would be left abandoned and more communities will slide back into the claws of poverty and hopelessness.

Joining hands
The power and effect of volunteers lies in the fact that people from different backgrounds join forces to address common social problems in the community. Whilst the programmes report the involvement of more than 400 official volunteers, there are much greater numbers of unofficial volunteers and helpers from the Christian communities in KZN involved in the work.

All members of participating churches are seen as potential volunteers of the organisation.

How can you help?
Depending on their willingness, talents and area of interest, volunteers are utilized in different ways. You can support us in the physical care, psychological or spiritual support of babies, pre-schoolers, primary school children or teenagers. Give your time to help with skills training and income generating projects for adults. Invest your time and abilities in the home based care of HIV/AIDS patients or other terminally sick people.

A growing number of young people from within South Africa and other countries support the work by giving a year of their lives as full time volunteers. Experience learned that language barriers are overcome by care, love and support to those in need. One of the foreign volunteers said: “It is a wonderful and unforgettable experience and the knowledge that you are involved in the lives of other people, is a life changing experience in itself.”

KZN CMD also needs volunteer-advocates. People who can spread the word about the needs of the people in one of the most poverty struck provinces in South Africa.
